Shepard Arms Inspection & Collector Notes: When this shotgun came into our shop, our armorers performed a complete teardown, an exhaustive deep cleaning, and a meticulous reassembly to strict Shepard Arms standards. During this process, we found absolutely zero internal wear, staging, or carbon buildup. In our professional opinion, we highly doubt this shotgun has ever been fired outside of the factory proofing. This is essentially a pristine, new-old-stock 870.
As a point of transparency and detail for our buyers: this is a late-model (Freedom Group era) production unit, denoted by the "CC" serial number prefix and the 2D matrix barcode laser-engraved on the receiver. To streamline production during this era, Remington utilized a universal "Remington 870" receiver stamp. However, the matte finish, dimpled magazine tube, and overall DNA confirm this is an Express-tier build. It is mechanically rock-solid and the action is remarkably smooth.
