Up for sale is a pristine, early-production classic: a vintage Ruger Redhawk chambered in the legendary .44 Magnum.
Based on the 500-prefix serial number (500-56946), this absolute tank of a revolver rolled out of the factory in 1983. Early-production Redhawks are universally respected for their bank-vault lockup and overbuilt strength, making them the ultimate choice for heavy field use, handgun hunting, or bear defense. This specific 7.5-inch model features the classic brushed stainless steel finish and Pachmayr rubber grips with bronze medallions.
Condition & Inspection Report: This revolver has been meticulously inspected and deep-cleaned by our in-house gunsmithing team. It is in exceptional mechanical and cosmetic condition for a 40+ year-old firearm.
The "Golden Ticket" History: The original owner of this Redhawk primarily shot light .44 Special loads rather than heavy magnums. Because of this, the forcing cone is in fantastic shape, and the top strap shows extremely mild, practically non-existent flame cutting for its age.
Action & Mechanics: The single-action trigger breaks crisply, the double-action pull is smooth, and the cylinder lockup is exceptionally tight.
Finish: The stainless steel has been professionally cleaned and lightly polished, showcasing a brilliant finish with only very minor, honest handling marks commensurate with light field use.
Grips: This was an incredibly common, almost mandatory upgrade for these revolvers back in the day. The original factory wood grips on the Redhawk exposed the metal backstrap, making heavy .44 Magnum loads notoriously brutal on the web of the hand. The Pachmayrs wrap the backstrap and absorb that shock, making it infinitely more comfortable to shoot.
