Up for sale is a classic piece of mid-century American sporting history: the Ithaca Model 66 "Super Single" chambered in 20 Gauge.
Manufactured in the early-to-mid 1970s (Serial Number: 101221), the Model 66 is famous for its unique lever-action opening mechanism. While it boasts the profile of a classic Western lever gun, pulling the lever unlocks the breech, allowing the barrel to hinge open like a traditional break-action single shot. Paired with a manually cocked exposed hammer, it is renowned as an incredibly safe, reliable, and nostalgic field gun.
Condition & Restoration Report: This shotgun has been professionally inspected, tested, and partially restored by our in-house gunsmithing team to ensure it is ready for decades of reliable field use.
Barrel Finish (Upgraded): The original barrel had developed significant rust over the years. We media-blasted the barrel completely down to bare metal to halt all active oxidation and applied a professional Cerakote finish to closely match the factory black alloy receiver. Please note: while the rust is completely neutralized, the dimensional pitting from the old rust remains visible under the Cerakote finish.
Structural Integrity: The barrel has been thoroughly inspected and tested. It is structurally sound, safe, and perfectly ready for regular field use. The Cerakote provides vastly superior weather and rust resistance compared to the original factory bluing.
Action & Mechanics: The lever-action release is smooth, the breech locks up tightly, and the hammer/trigger mechanics function exactly as designed.
Wood Furniture: The original walnut-stained hardwood stock and forend show typical, honest field wear (scratches and minor dings) but remain structurally solid with no major cracks. The original Ithaca-branded buttplate is intact.
