A Pristine Turn-of-the-Century Time Capsule Up for sale from Shepard Arms is an absolute gem for the serious wheel-gun enthusiast. This is a pristine, late-2001 production Ruger GP100 chambered in .357 Magnum. Finding one of these older-production powerhouses in the wild is great, but finding one that appears virtually untouched with all of its original factory accoutrements is exceedingly rare.
Shepard Arms Inspection & Collector Notes: When this revolver came into our shop, we were immediately struck by its condition. Based on our professional inspection, we highly doubt the original owner ever fired this weapon outside of the factory proofing. The deep, factory bluing is immaculate, and there is virtually no "turn ring" on the cylinder. Most importantly for collectors, this 2001 model still features the highly desirable original factory "Lett" style rubber grips with the wood panel inserts, which Ruger discontinued on later models.
Build Specs & Features:
Frame & Finish: Massive, overbuilt solid cast steel frame finished in Ruger's classic, deep factory bluing.
Barrel: 6-inch heavy barrel with a full-length underlug to maximize sight radius, velocity, and help tame the recoil of full-house .357 Magnum loads.
Cylinder: 6-shot capacity, featuring Ruger's legendary triple-locking mechanism for unmatched structural integrity and lockup.
Sights: Fully adjustable rear sight paired with a pinned, serrated ramp front sight.
Grips: The highly sought-after original factory rubber grips with beautiful wood panel inserts.
The Complete Factory Package: This GP100 ships exactly as it left the factory in 2001. The package includes:
